Lorenzo Lippi Soprano Ukulele
Lippi Soprano
In being on the look out for nice Ukuleles I see the work of a number of full and part time luthiers. The instruments they make look very nice and worthy of note.

David Prat

David Prat is an luthier from Barcelona, Spain making folk instruments including Banjoleles and Ukuleles...
And yes the Violin looking thing is really a Ukulele!

Lorenzo Lippi

A luthier from Milan, Italy he has been making instruments since 1979 and is currently a professor at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milano

Simon Overton - Fidra

He currently lives in rural Scotland, UK  and making Ukuleles may be his main profession? He does other wood work and has made some Guitars too. The Ukuleles are very traditional in design come in Soprano, Concert or Tenor and use a number of woods. a couple of things that appear on a number, but not all of his instruments are having a single fret marker at the 7th fret and that is a small geometric design (he puts the usual compliment of fret markers down the side), and the use of hand made custom bridge pins. The name Fidra comes from a small Scottish island which is said to be the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's book "Treasure Island".
