In being on the look out for nice Ukuleles I see the work of a number of full and part time luthiers. The instruments they make look very nice and worthy of note.
He started out in Kentucky in about 2005 making Banjo parts for other luthiers to use but added complete Banjos and Banjoleles to his output soon after. He has a very bad reputation for not delivering instruments on time and may have ceased production in 2011?
Richard Vance Clark
From central Iowa, he has been making instruments since before 2010. On his website he says he makes Guitars, Banjos, Mandolins, Violins, and Ukuleles but not much else. From what I have seen his output is mainly Guitars but he does make some Ukuleles too in 2014 the domain name had expired
T. Hank Robinson
From Omaha, Nebraska and credited with the first Archtop Ukulele with a Florentine cutaway I don't know if this is true or what happened to him but he appears to have stopped in 2002? and his sole output seams to have been these Tenor Archtops he called JazzUke (and claims to have filed a trademark for?) - no Mandolins, no Guitars no different Ukuleles?
