In being on the lookout for nice Ukuleles I see the work of a number of full and part time luthiers. The instruments they make look very nice and worthy of note.
Based in Jones, Oklahoma he is a retired cabinet maker says he has built musical instruments for many years. Since retirement he is using his woodworking skill to make a number of items for sale on his esty shop or at the Oklahoma City Farmer’s Public Market. One of his products is a Soprano scale Ukulele. I don't know if he makes other scales or what he made before retirement?
Based in Flagstaff, Arizona and started as a Guitar shop in 2004 it has expanded to be a center for music lessons and luthiery, plus a workshop for making and repairing all kinds of Chordophone; including making all kinds of Ukulele as a custom order. Ryan himself started as an apprentice working at Shade Tree Stringed Instruments for luthier Greg Mirken and has gone on since finishing the apprenticeship to do a number of other courses including qualifying as a warranty repairer for Taylor Guitars.
Based in Madison, Wisconsin and making instruments since before 2009 his main output is 6 and 12 string acoustic Guitars base on, and in some cases even direct copies of, US made Guitars of the early 20th century He does include a Tenor Guitar in his main catalogue and sometimes make other chordophones like the Mexican folk chordophones and in a few cases Soprano Ukuleles.
