Dinette electric Ukulele
In being on the lookout for nice Ukuleles I see the work of a number of full and part time luthiers. The instruments they make look very nice and worthy of note.

Larry Radtke - LarryUkes

Based in Bonita Springs, Florida he started making instruments in 2012 with a cigar box Ukulele. He has gone on from there with the help of a cabinet maker friend, YOUTube videos and a number of books, to make a number of proper Ukuleles and some other chordophones including Banjos. He makes Concert and Tenor scale Ukuleles (he say some are Sopranos but all the ones I have seen have actually been Concert scale), using mainly reclaimed and local woods.

Ronnie Dinette

Based in the Bay Area of Northern California and in business since certainly before 2011 this is one of those makers who are a bit reticent about themselves. The brand is called Dinette Guitars and I believe the owner is called Ronnie(?) I'm even less sure the full name is actually Ronnie Dinette(?? and I'm only guessing its a man) Anyhow. From the website I can see that electric Guitars are the main output but he also does other instruments including Mandolins and Ukuleles (still electric only). Along with making instruments he also repairs them, specialising in the more unusual vintage US and European brands, something which he says he has been doing for more than 30 years. When making instruments he uses reclaimed materials including old instrument components and formica dining tables; he also makes stage props

Thomas Weikel

Based in Hillsborough, North Carolina he is a trained fine woodworker who specialises in creating things in sustainable or reclaimed wood. Part of his catalogue of items is custom made steel strung electric Tenor scale Ukuleles made from scraps and cast offs from the housing industry.
