21st c. Luthiers from Hawaii click for more
In being on the look out for nice Ukuleles I see the work of a number of full and part time luthiers. The Ukuleles and other instruments they make look very nice and worthy of note.
Ernest Loo - E.L. Woodworks
He is based in Hawaii, (I believe Honolulu) and he has been in business since at least 2011. As well as Ukuleles he makes wooden toys and says he makes Guitars (though I've never seen one) and I think there is a Facebook page which may have more information on?
Greg Uyehara - GKU
From Honolulu, Hawaiian he specializes in spruce top Tenor Ukuleles with optional cutaways. (He does use other woods and make other sizes sometimes though)
Richard Godin - Kealia
From Honaunau, on the big Island he joined the Hawaiian Guild of Luthiers in 2002, (There use to be a website www.ukehawaii.com), but I don't know if he's still working
